Aaron Elf's Dance Troop & Cheering Up Luke Activity Guide For Schoolkids & Their Parents

Compare Aaron's dream of dancing to his new dream of helping disabled elves. What did he have to do to achieve his dream? What inspired him to help Bread and the other disabled elves? List down your child's dreams and ambitions, then choose just one from the list. How will he or she achieve that dream? There are some printable thought bubbles so you can lead your child into writing and drawing about what he or she would like to be when he or she grows up. Print them out here:

As for my story, now named Beast:
Talk with your child about how Luke felt when he stubbed his toe on the table leg. You could use different emotional words to describe various feelings such as anger, anxiety and panic. Then lead them outside into the garden or take them to a local park, for they are going to try a breathing exercise. First, start breathing for the count of five seconds slowly, then breath out for the same amount. Try this four more times. Then, explain to your child that they are going to make a 'Zone' for Luke to chill out in. Have your child collect some natural material from around the outdoor area for Luke's 'Zone' and place them in a secluded spot in the garden or park. Using an egg timer, let your child sit in that 'Zone' in peace and quiet for ten minutes. When the ten minutes is up, ask your child how it felt in that comfortable spot. Ask:
How did you feel in that spot?
What did you see? A dog walker? Trees? Flowers? Bees and ants?
How did it feel? Warm or cool? Was there a breeze?

You can find a 'Zone' for yourself too!

I was asleep in bed, enjoying Dreamland’s ride With Luke, Resus and Cleo asleep by my side Chester asleep on one end of the bed As a soppy dream began filling my head My friends and I were roaming around the street Where on the windows cupcakes were cooling for us to eat There were games to play in the graveyard with friends Oh, this joy never ends Suddenly, the sky began to glow blood red The sun became orange and above our heads Tall skyscrapers began to tower As the residents ran in a scattering shower The American flag was lifted above, America’s taking the friends I love So I took out my gun and returned fire The hole in the flag reached my desire “How do you like it?” I yelled in anger, “America, you’re a trapjawed cloakandagger!” Suddenly, an arm took hold of my hand And dragged me away, not to Dreamland But to a...
