Dear Luke, Resus and Cleo....
Do you remember when Otto set up a burger shop in Scream Street? I remember it quite well, even when Mr and Mrs Crudley were gorging down burgers. Even the newsreader was doing it. Does this episode remind you of David Walliams' 'Ratburger'? It's similar to that, and with all these films about Mickey Mouse launching on Disney+ this week, I thought I'd tell you about the rat plague that infected Scream Street because of Otto's burger shop. Doug and Dig looked like rancid versions of Mickey Mouse - as if Mickey had been infected with deadly acid - and Luella acted like a meerkat at one point. Have you heard of Mickey: The Story Of A Mouse? It's quite similar to Light & Magic, but it'll be much better if these two shows used sign language to communicate with their viewers. Shame we don't get episodes like that anymore, especially with characters like Greystoke McDread and the newsreader gone. We don't get CBBC shows like yours anymore, just typical American stuff. Yes, America is a free country, but I wish Britain was freer. Now America is taking over the BBC's children's department. CBeebies is telling children to grow up, and CBBC has become a noisy, fast-moving iPlayer advertisement! We can stay forever young, right? Yes, I think we can. Also, I've been thinking about this ever since I saw the episode the first time: do you know Ohio Express' Yummy Yummy Yummy, and Timon & Pumbaa's cover? Well, it would be nice if there were a promo for the episode that aired on CBBC that saw Otto and Dixon singing to the tune of that song. Embarrassing, right? Not as embarrassing as...er...I can't mention that, but I can mention it to you outside the letter. Tell you what: on our next sleepover, we'll all dress up like Mickey Mouse, binge-watch old fashioned Mickey cartoons and eat chocolate creams and drink lemonade. That, my friends, is a true Mickey movie night. See you tomorrow!
Love,
Sophie.
