Velvet

Velvet is a magical secret garden.

Luke, Resus, Cleo and I like to go there.

We go there when we’re stressed.

We love it in our secret place.

There are flowers everywhere.

Nothing is overgrown.

The garden is so peaceful.

There’s a fountain just over there.

We take off our shoes and socks.

We splash about in the cool water.

We like to splash each other under the fountain.

We like to roam the garden’s green fields.

We pick flowers.

We hand them to each other.

I hand a bunch to Luke.

He thinks they smell lovely.

We share a hug.

We skip around the field.

We catch clouds in the sky.

We jump as high as we could.

We can’t reach the clouds….

But we can reach it in our minds.

We roll down hills.

The grass is covered in dew.

We don’t mind the dew.

We love how it tastes.

There’s nowhere we’d rather be.

We land in a heap at the bottom.

We laugh and hug each other.

It feels like Spring has begun.

We wished for Spring to last all year.

Now, Spring is in this garden.

There’s a huge tree.

It’s located in the middle of the garden.

Underneath it is moss.

Soft, green moss.

We like to rest in the shade.

The sun gets too hot.

We snuggle on the velvety green mossy carpet.

“Feels just like velvet…”

We fall asleep safely.

This garden is our paradise.

Whatever garden we chose to play in,

This one catches our eyes.

This garden’s full of flowers

And sometimes a natural surprise.

The Nightmare

LET THE NIGHTMARE BEGIN!! I had a dream strange but true That might shock and terrify you It’s from my house in Cornwall, you see, And this dream meant much harm to me. I was asleep in bed, enjoying Dreamland’s ride With Luke, Resus and Cleo asleep by my side Chester asleep on one end of the bed As a soppy dream began filling my head My friends and I were roaming around the street Where on the windows cupcakes were cooling for us to eat There were games to play in the graveyard with friends Oh, this joy never ends Suddenly, the sky began to glow blood red The sun became orange and above our heads Tall skyscrapers began to tower As the residents ran in a scattering shower The American flag was lifted above, America’s taking the friends I love So I took out my gun and returned fire The hole in the flag reached my desire “How do you like it?” I yelled in anger, “America, you’re a trapjawed cloakandagger!” Suddenly, an arm took hold of my hand And dragged me away, not to Dreamland But to a...
